What is the Significance of Grace?

The significance of grace can be perplexing. It may also seem somewhat unrealistic, but ultimately, it plants seeds of hope in one's mind.

Some Christians have developed an image of God as having a fleeting presence. It is thought that God is far removed from human existence, except in extreme situations.

But one way of understanding the significance of grace is through a meditative sequence.

It was through such an experience that I discovered the eternal presence of God with me at all times. One can unmistakably feel connected to Spirit while meditating.

Such an experience can certainly present a pivotal moment in your spiritual walk. In the midst of peace, Spirit communicates I am always with you.

This feeling is grace; it is a gift of the Spirit.

How Does this Affect You?

You become more and more receptive to Spirit when you spend time studying the Bible, praying, listening to sermons, and meditating.

You also grow closer to God when you share a smile, exchange words of encouragement, and are courteous to complete strangers. Your awareness of the enduring presence of God becomes more acute as time goes on.

The significance of grace is that gratitude saturates our hearts when we recognize that we share sacred space with God.

Let's consider St. John 15:15, which reads,

“I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.”

The context of this excerpt involves Jesus explaining how vital He is to your production and progress.

By seeking God, you become increasingly aware that He is the source of your vitality.

Bible Basics Layers of Understanding

Distractions will never be fully quieted, but they will not hinder your growth to the extent that they may have in the past.

You are better able to monitor what you lend your energy to and the extent to which you are involved in certain thoughts and activities when you actively engage in spiritual transformation.

Grace opens up your spirit and displays God’s boundless love for you.

Maintenance of these new thoughts and feelings will require significant effort because it is far easier to revert back to old, comfortable systems than to set new standards and adopt a different lifestyle.

But, the process is worth every moment.
