Heart of the Matter
At the heart of the matter, it is safe to have full confidence in God.
God is not a man, so He does not lie. He is not human, so He does not change His mind. Has He ever spoken and failed to act? Has He ever promised and not carried it through?" (Numbers 23:19, NLT)
Believers often know that they were intricately designed and created to fulfill God’s purpose but have a difficult time fully absorbing this thought.
Knowing God's truth is not the same as allowing it to saturate your heart.
Fear can often interfere with your ability to allow the goodness of God to spill over into every fiber of your being.
Facing the unknown is threatening, but ignoring or minimizing your fears will not allow you to get at the root of the problem.
Persistent feelings need to be acknowledged. Disregarding them prevents you from opening up every iota of your heart to God.
God as Man?
At the very heart of the matter, in spite of spiritual growth, believers often view God as man - flawed and prone to express truths either partially or completely, whichever would be most advantageous for Him.
But God is not man, and He does not lie.
Is your perspective of Him rooted in Biblical truth? Or, are you limiting Him to experiential interpretations of human encounters?
When God communicates His purpose for your life, it is not to boost His ego or fill your head with nonsense.
According to Numbers 23:19, God is incapable of lying. It is not in His nature to indicate that you were created for "Reason A" and then arbitrarily switch your purpose to "Reason B."
The first reason is the last reason regardless of the amount of time it takes for you to fulfill your purpose.
The Promise Keeper
God keeps His promises and far exceeds your expectations.
Are you able to reflect on the many ways in which God has kept His promises to you? Consider those individuals who reinforce God's divine intent in your life.
What is housed in the center of your relationship with God?
Is there some thought or emotion that prevents you from fully thriving in all that God has for you?
Talk to God about that area in your life. Ask Him to reveal His truth to you.
It is a truth that transcends human reasoning.
